What's new in v1.1.7

Feature + polish release. Recording quality tiers, retooled left-hand gestures, sharper hand tracking on cheap webcams, refreshed dialog chrome across the whole app, plus dozens of UI fixes.

Recording quality — pick your tier. Settings → General → Clip Presets now has a Low / Normal / High tier picker with a plain-English “Show more” explainer. High goes near-lossless at 60 fps for footage you can edit later; Normal is the balanced default; Low compresses hard for smaller files. And you can now set clip duration to 30 seconds — filenames pick up the actual duration (Touchless_Clip_30s_1.mp4).

Left-hand TWO is now the instant-clip gesture. Hold the “two” pose (index + middle up) for half a second to save an instant clip — same as saying “clip that” out loud. Left-hand FIST is retired. Dictation mode is temporarily off while it gets a fresh accuracy pass.

Smoother tracking on generic USB webcams. On GPU Mode with a Realtek / Sonix / Chicony / generic UVC webcam, Touchless now hints the driver into short-exposure mode BEFORE ffmpeg claims the camera. Result: sharper frames, less motion blur, noticeably smoother hand skeleton. Premium cameras (Kiyo Pro, Brio, C920) are left alone. Landmark smoother also tightened by ~20 % so the skeleton sits still when your hand does.

Drawing feels right. New drift dead-zone — the pen stays still when your hand does, even if MediaPipe wobbles the landmarks. And drawing-mode swipes (left / right to undo / clear) now fire from the same “one” pose you already draw with, so you don’t switch hand shapes mid-stroke.

Refreshed dialog chrome across 18 popups. Spotify setup wizard, Discord setup, phone connect, tutorial, custom-gesture recorder, and every other dialog now use the Touchless indigo title bar on both Win 10 and Win 11. Sharp square X close buttons on every popup. Live View window title bar now matches the rest of the app.

Settings search is sharper. Dropdown auto-sizes to the widest result and extends further down. Single-character queries only match labels — no more noise. Clicking a result while you’re already on that section now scrolls to the top instead of doing nothing. New search entries for Quality Level, Clip Duration, Discord / Spotify setup, and more.

Polish. Clip processing bar visibly reaches 100 % before hiding. Text pop-ups toggle now correctly silences the clip flow toasts. 14+ tooltips shortened. Debug-log-location popup on exit removed. The top-right diagnostic HUD is gone.

• Cleaner dictation — beam search + VAD filtering + hallucination thresholds cut spurious words.
• Smarter grammar correction — triggers when you stop typing, aborts on resume, does a final pass at the end.
• Smooth live view during fullscreen games — new lite paint mode + process-priority boost stop the camera from stuttering.
• Spotify reauth toast — gentle prompt when your token expires instead of silent failure.
• Tutorial Spotify step now auto-completes when music actually plays.
• Consistent spacing on settings panel scroll bars; single green scroll bar on Control Guide.
• Connect Phone is reachable when no webcam or mic is detected (dropdowns stay enabled).

Known issues

• Dynamic gesture accuracy is mediocre — over-firing and missed-fires both happen. Re-record after each update; saved templates aren't forward-compatible across tuning changes yet.

System requirements

• Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit).
• Webcam: any USB or built-in camera at 720p/30fps or higher. Faster cameras reduce motion blur on gestures.
• Microphone: required for voice commands and dictation. A headset or external mic works best; laptop/webcam mics are fine.
• GPU (recommended): NVIDIA (CUDA 12.x) or any Vulkan-capable AMD/Intel GPU for fast voice transcription and grammar correction. CPU-only mode works but is slower.
• RAM: 8 GB minimum, 16 GB recommended (voice and grammar models load together).
• Disk space: about 6 GB free after install (includes whisper models and optional Qwen 3B grammar model).
• First run: Windows may prompt to allow camera and microphone access — accept both.

How to install

• Click Download for Windows to download the installer.
• Open Touchless_Installer.exe after the download finishes.
• Follow the setup prompts to install Touchless.
• Launch Touchless from the desktop shortcut or Start menu after installation.
